Two Lake Worth-related articles in the Palm Beach Daily News today...
You might want to pick up a real copy of today's Shiny Sheet. One of the articles, both by Jan Sjostrom, reports on the Armory Art Center will be leasing our shuffleboard court building for a year. Class in two dimensional art begin this coming Tuesday. Joan Oliva, Lake Worth CRA Director is quoted as well as representatives of the Armory. Both see it as a trial. The other article highlights the Benzaiten Center and its 20 year lease with the city to create fine art foundry and glassworks studio. The center will be housed in the historic FEC Freight Depot south of Lake Avenue and east of South F Street. It looks like the Living Arts Foundation, who will run the center, is about halfway to their fundraising goal. Overall, nice to have our efforts to use the arts in redevelopment recognized and talked about.
