Delray mayor says sober houses need more oversight - Page 2 - Sun Sentinel
Vice-Mayor Maxwell made this point at the last City Commission meeting (11/5). He is also the chair of the Palm Beach County League of Cities this year and is attempting to use that platform to get the attention of the Governor and the State Legislature. He and representatives from other cities are concerned about the proliferation of sober houses, good and bad as the article states, from overwhelming their communities. Apparently, Delray Beach is feeling the effect from the situation where ADA and Fair Housing laws protect people in treatment programs from discrimination - and in some cases regulation.
