Casino building construction pictures taken by the City - probably from earlier this week...
An attractive retail location? Visibility seems limited before the turtle glass goes in - the deep pillars do not help.
I'm not sure why more pictures weren't taken of the "spectacular" view that was the focus of the conversation related to the attractiveness of the second floor space.
On another note, there is a comment in the Morganti report for October that occupancy for the ballroom on the second floor will be limited to an occupancy of 400 people. This will not be one of the larger ballrooms in the county as originally discussed.
Noted in passing...
That the City Manager's report, issued today, contained no mention of the election or results thereof. I checked back to previous years' reports after the election. In 2009, there was extensive mention of the results of the general election - that Jo Ann Golden was re-elected - and that there would be a run-off election. There was nothing in the 2010 report after the election.
Important Paragraph in Morganti's October Report
Note the second bullet point. Based on direction given at the 11/3 special City Commission meeting on proposed tenant leases, the direction was given to build the second floor as designed. That is, to be a stand alone second-floor restaurant instead of a single two story restaurant. It will be interesting to see if there is any attempt to bring Johnny Longboats back, given the new make-up of the Commission. It is a shame to do work that would have to be undone, but that is the way things are at times. The cost for design and a hole to accommodate access was in the $35,000 range.
Aerial Pictures from Morganti's Project Management Report for October - Casino Building

Neighborhood Cleanup | TRNA
Hello,
The Tropical Ridge Neighborhood Association will be holding another Neighborhood Cleanup this Saturday November 12th from 8-11am. We will be meeting in the parking lot of Compass and will be focusing our efforts on cleaning up the alleyway just West of Dixie from Compass to 10th Avenue North. Please bring gloves and sunblock. TRNA will provide the garbage bags, cold drinking water, lawn mower and a fun-loving spirit never before seen while picking up other people's trash.
We look forward to seeing all of you there!
[CPNA] Bulk Amnesty Week
Dear Neighobrs,
Next week, November 14th through the 18th is Bulk amnesty week. That means you can put out as much bulk garbage as you need to. Items that are allowable for bulk pick up include furniture, appliances, mattresses, box springs etc. Please secure the doors on regrigerators to protect our children. Vegetation is not bulk and construction debris is not bulk.
If you live in College Park or anywhere in District 3, you can start putting bulk items at the curb on Saturday, November 12th, and add as much as you need to up until Thursday the 17th and it will all be picked up by the City on Friday the 18th.
Normally, bulk items can only be placed at the curb no earlier than 6pm on the day before the regularly scheduled pickup and there is a 4 cubic yard limit to how much bulk you can put out. For this amnesty period, there is no limit to how much bulk you can place at the curb.
If you don't live in College Park or anywhere in District 3, you can still start putting bulk items out on Saturday the 12th and it will be picked up on your usual bulk collection day; District 1 on Monday the 14th, District 2 on Thursday the 16th, District 4 on Tuesday the 15th.
Please remember that only during bulk amnesty week is it allowed to put bulk items out so many days before the pick-up. Please be as considerate as you can of your neighbors and consolidate your bulk items as much as you can at your curb so there is still room for people to park. For more information, please call Public Services at 533-7344.
Please feel free to share this information with your friends and neighbors who may not be on our email distribution list
