OMG!

CONGRATULATIONS Mayor TRIOLO and Commissioner AMOROSO!!

Comment left under Oceanside Market Parking follow-up by our correspondent...

After getting the ticket on Saturday, I called the number provided and left a message. I received a return call this afternoon. Here's the gyst...the parking lot at Old Bridge Park is plenty large enough to accommodate market attendees if only the vendors would push to the furthest western end of the park and oh, by the way, you can always park on the west side of the bridge for free and walk! The caller blamed the owner of the market but did suggest he would go to the market at some point and take pictures to confirm my story but there was nothing he could do about the ticket. Note: I didn't ask him to "help" with the ticket. It was clear the city doesn't care if the the market lives or dies. I do and have friends who are vendors so I will continue to support them. However, I will likely return to WPB as they have free parking until 1pm and it's clear the city loves its market. I'm also planning to vote tomorrow for those candidates who support our city and the possibility of terminating Ms. Stanton before her "my way or the highway" way of doing business completes the destruction of our city! GET OUT AND VOTE!

Vote for PAM TRIOLO for Mayor and ANDY AMOROSO for Commissioner TODAY!

Historic Palm Beach – brought to you by the Palm Beach Post » This week in history: Palm Coast Plaza opens as city’s first shopping mall

Our neighbor to the north served many retail needs of Lake Worth residents by the positioning of Palm Coast Plaza so close to our northern border. This week marks the shopping center's opening.  Retailing, demographics and geographic area increases (sprawl to the north and west) have changed the world significantly since 1959.  Click title for link.

Dalai Lama

"Great compassion is the root of altruistic action. It really is a source of wonder. There is no greater source of help and happiness. The capacity to devote yourself to the welfare of others yields otherwise unobtainable power and potential for good. Generate great compassion and you become a friend of the world and a companion of the warm-hearted."

The moderator, Craig Henne is a trip!  Mary L. called in and corrected him - he was saying that the beach isn't owned by the city, we lease it from Palm Beach.  He agreed at first, but then he said he would have to look in to it.  Actually, the town of Palm Beach exists north and south of our beach property - in order to maintain a contiguous boundary, the town reserved a 5 foot strip of property along the mean high water line along the ocean.  Not many know this.

Words to live by:  Craig Henne, at the end of the show, said simply, "For the love of God, get out to vote!"

Interim San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee's mustache featured in current campaign...

Click here for NY Times article.  Key quote:

"It's a reflection on how little we pay attention as voters that what we note is facial hair," My Jaye said, "and also how much time and effort is spent trying to brand people"

A local example, last night a Lake Worth friend and voter came up to me and asked who to vote for in this coming election.  I told him Triolo and Amoroso.  He asked me to repeat it, and I did two or three times.  He tried repeating the names and finally said, "So, I will vote for T and A."  I said, "Yes, you should vote for T and A." He said, "Great, easy to remember."

Lake Worth Oceanside Farmers Market and Parking

One of our roving correspondents reports that she went to the Farmers Market, now being held in Ye Olde Bridge Park, yesterday morning.  She arrived at 8:30 a.m. and parked in the area where the Market was held before - which can be described as the southeast corner of Lake Avenue and A1A, or the north part of the western parking area of our beach property - right behind the casino building.  She walked across the street, browsed around and got back to her car around 9:05 a.m.  At 9:00 a.m., a ticket had been written for $25 and placed on her vehicle.  She parked where the signs directed her.  She says, "If I wasn't to park there, I don't have a clue where it was actually legal."

Welcome to the City of Lake Worth, thank you for visiting...Where is the free parking?  Did we have it before?  Why don't we have it now?  Who is enforcing this?

This has been e-mailed to the Mayor, Commissioners, City Manager and City Attorney.
