Another quick update from your local PBSO District:14 - Lake Worth Beach

·         I will continue to send these out as needed and at least weekly to keep you informed

·         Our PBSO District in West Delray Beach did have a scammer claiming to be with the CDC. He was wearing medical garb and fled when law enforcement was called. It is important to reiterate to neighbors that agencies such as this are not doing door to door visits and to call us when this happens. They tend to prey on the elderly with these scams

·         We recently had two different locations in the Royal Poinciana and Tropical Ridge neighborhoods tagged with graffiti which met the criteria for a hate crime. One was the Guatemalan Maya Center. If you see anything please call right away. We have a limited description of a stocky suspect dressed in all black clothing

·         It still looks like the majority of you are doing your part regarding social distancing – this is great to see – thank you!

·         The beach and surrounding park areas are closed. You can get takeout orders from the restaurants up there. You cannot go up to sightsee. I have been told that staff is turning away hundreds of cars, bikes etc.

·         PBSO is still fully operational - initially crime slowed way down – criminals are starting to come out again – particularly the street robberies and auto burglaries at night – Please call if you see anything suspicious

Thank you and be safe,
