On Oct. 30th at First Reading the Lake Worth City Commission voted unanimously in favor of The MID housing project located at 1601 N. Dixie Hwy. Tomorrow is Second Reading.

Two excerpts about Ordinance 2018-17:
In a Special City Commission meeting the Lake Worth Commission passed on first reading an ordinance creating an Urban Planned Development district on North Dixie Highway. The district was necessary for the proposed development, The MID, to proceed.
The commission also approved the site plan and Sustainable Bonus ordinance for The MID.
If passed on second reading The MID will be able to begin the process of developing a 230 unit mixed use development.

The site plan proposes 2.5 parking spaces per unit and meets existing code according to Michael Weiner, the attorney for 1601 Dixie, LLC, the developer.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the City Commission of the City of Lake Worth, Florida, will hold a public hearing in the City Hall Commission Chambers, 7 North Dixie Hwy., at 6:00 PM or as soon thereafter as possible, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 to consider a request by Jeffery Burns of Affiliated Development for the following:
Ordinance 2018-17: An ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Lake Worth, Florida, approving the creation of a Mixed Use Urban Planned Development District located at 1601 North Dixie Highway consisting of approximately 5.48 acres that is located within the Mixed use-Dixie Highway (MU-DH) District that includes the specific development standards, approving a major site plan and sustainable bonus incentive program for the construction of 230 apartment units and ±9,700 square feet of ground floor commercial space.
