Lake Worth Auditorium built by the Federal Emergency Relief Administration (FERA)

Photograph taken on May 2, 1935. (Built as FERA project 50-B3-48.) The Federal Emergency Relief Administration was one of the "alphabet" agencies rolled out as part of the New Deal during the Roosevelt administration. I hope that you were able to catch the PBS series on the Roosevelts (Theodore, Franklin and Eleanor) when it aired last week. If not, I understand you can still watch all the episodes at various public television websites. It is also available on Netflix and other outfits. Highly recommended.

Our current City Hall was part of the Civic Center for Lake Worth and known as the "Municipal Auditorium." It had a larger auditorium, with a stage (parts of which still exist). It was retrofitted to become home for the city administration in the early 1970s. Eventually, I would like to see it returned back to a multipurpose auditorium.
