Two excerpts about Ordinance 2018-17:

In a Special City Commission meeting the Lake Worth Commission passed on first reading an ordinance creating an Urban Planned Development district on North Dixie Highway. The district was necessary for the proposed development, The MID, to proceed.

The commission also approved the site plan and Sustainable Bonus ordinance for The MID.

If passed on second reading The MID will be able to begin the process of developing a 230 unit mixed use development.

The site plan proposes 2.5 parking spaces per unit and meets existing code according to Michael Weiner, the attorney for 1601 Dixie, LLC, the developer.
