Weekly Update From PBSO - District 14 - Lake Worth Beach

Today is the first day of the phase one re-opening plan. This affects restaurants, retail, hair salons, barbershops, nail salons, and elective medical procedures.  Please familiarize yourselves with the details and help us help you by following the restrictions.

Palm Tran is now requiring all riders to wear masks on their buses.

This past weekend I noticed that less people were wearing masks, both in Lake Worth Beach and other parts of Palm Beach County. Mask use is still strongly recommended. Entry into phase one of re-opening does not mean the crisis is over. It is likely more important now to be wearing masks since more people will be out. The last thing we want to see is a large spike in cases and deaths. Please continue to wear your masks, if not for yourself, for the elderly and those with compromised immune systems.

We had a pretty good week regarding crime. Auto burglaries were down 50% from the previous week. We did have a handgun stolen from an unlocked vehicle. The deputies made a great arrest in a carjacking case which occurred at 7th Avenue North and North F Street.

Tomorrow Feeding South Florida will be back at the CRA – Hatch Center distributing food.

Census, census, census…

Thank you and be safe,
