Upcoming event: “Saluting Branches: Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance”.

The 3rd Annual Saluting Branches will be
on Wednesday, September 20th.

Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance is an opportunity for tree care professionals throughout the country to unite and do what we do best – provide exceptional tree care – to keep our veterans cemeteries safe, beautiful places for all those who visit.”

Below is news about this effort, but once again the editor at The Palm Beach Post is confused about Zip Codes. The South Florida National Cemetery is not “in Lake Worth” as reported: this cemetery is located west of the Florida Turnpike, south of Wellington, in what’s called suburban Lake Worth (the address is 6501 S. State Road 7).*

Other than the editor misreporting the location, here are more details in the Post:

“Tree care professionals from six local tree service companies will unite at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth [sic] on Sept. 20 for a volunteer day of service dedicated to our veterans.
Saluting Branches, Arborists United for Veteran Remembrance is a nonprofit organization honoring veterans by donating tree care at veteran properties.”

and. . .

“Volunteer tree work at the 313-acre cemetery will begin at 8:30 a.m. with arborists providing expertise in tree structure, invasive insects, diseases, and best management practices for tree health.”

*The Pinecrest Cemetery in the City of Lake Worth is located at 1724 12th Ave. South, and for many local veterans, their final resting place.
