Wes, I thought the most interesting page of Frank Palen's handout was the last page that even if you click on, is too small to make out. It shows the long and expensive process to develop our Comp plan and LDR's limits heights to 30 feet throughout town with a few exceptions. To go over 30 feet in height, there must be many factors to allow extra height.
The idea is to make sure any height above 30 feet be compatible with the area.
Great presentation. Interesting to note that the same group of people that were against redeveloping the Gulfview are also proponents of the referendum that claims will "save" the Gulfstream.
I noticed how easy it was for Mr. Palen to refute all the naysayers lies.
The referendum basically comes down to the fact that Laurel Decker doesn't like the new boxy homes being built in her neighborhood. She prefers boarded up flop houses or vacant overgrown lots. That's good for her but isn't she forcing her opinion on the rest of the city?
These video clips make Respectful Planning PAC look really bad.
So remember that photo of you picking your nose in 6th grade?
You can expect Pinkie to be posting that any day now.
They show Frank Palen's prejudice. Wasn't he chair of the P&Z when it built the Lucerne? You sure are jealous of the other blogger.
I was chair of the P and Z - it was my first meeting acting in that capacity and it played to an empty house.
I've seen that "you are jealous of the other blogger" comment before but directed towards somebody else.
I'm going to ignore my gut reaction that it's the other blogger herself posting, but I'll ask anyway.
What is there to be jealous of?
Anger, frustration and bitterness are not traits anyone would want to be burdened with so why would anyone be jealous of her?
She doesn't get arrested for dui I have never seen her bitter or nasty at all. She is always polite in front of the commission unlike some. You might as well get over it, facts matter. If she were not influential, you wouldn't try so hard to bring her down.
I'm glad my neighbor brought your website to my attention. I was going to vote "yes" based on what I thougt it was all about. Now I'm voting no and will tell my neighbors. Many have the vote yes signs and I believe they were mislead like I was.
OMG, are you a sheep? obviously, you are very easily mis-lead.
I'll be voting yes, just take a look at the building at 2nd Ave. North, which has been empty since it was built and how it towers over the homes behind it. Construction should be in harmony with our historic neighborhood and homes. These tall buildings damage long term home owners next to or behind them.
