Should taller buildings be allowed in downtown Lake Worth?

Willie's take on last week's City Commission work session on the Comprehensive Plan.  What golden goose is McVoy talking about?  The one that keeps giving tiny, little eggs that prove that our property tax base cannot support a sufficient level of public services?  Remember we won the "golden goose" prize for being the Palm  Beach County municipality that had the greatest decreases in property tax valuation of any other - and we were almost backed into a special assessment for all sorts of basic services since our tax base couldn't support it - we were told.  The difference between 35 and 45 feet in the downtown is not that significant!  We are talking about potential in-fill redevelopment on a few lots - not a wholesale tear down of what is there now.  Although that is what the McVoy/Mulvehill faction would have you believe.

Click title for link to article.  Be thinking of how best to use McVoy's "golden goose."  Also, the headline is sensationalistic since it makes the public think that the heights being discussed are for buildings taller than what are there now.  The whole topic borders on the ridiculous - since the topic's primary goal is to rally McVoy/Mulvehill's anti-development base.
