How much more slippery could Waterman's answer have been? I'd love to have an explanation why there was a homestead exemption on the home she owned in West Palm Beach in 2008 and on the home she owned in Mims in 2009 and 2010. If she's been in Lake Worth "for the last several years", why was she taking homestead exemptions in other cities for the last several years?
She said she "lives" at the house. She did not claim to own it. She did not even claim to rent it. She said it was "owned by a dear friend". Does she pay any housing costs at all? She said her husband convinced her to live on a farm in between her times leaving and coming back to Lake Worth. It sounds like she could just take off again if being mayor did not work out.... I think there are multiple layers here....good interspersed with bad.... It worries me if 2 candidates get similar vote counts and split the vote, and then the the other candidate slides in and wins by a tiny margin.....
She also said that the $23 million NSP2 grant should be used to fix the budget. Apparently she doesn't realize that it would be ILLEGAL to take the money from the CRA for this purpose.
She has now changed her tune to She DOESN'T want Chickens in the Park of Commerce; yet she is a member on the Facebook page “Lake Worth Chickens”. In fact they have her mayoral ‘wanna be’ yard sign as their profile picture.
In addition, before Waterman got aggressive in her campaign; her FB page said “Work Is Over Rated”. Now it says she WORKS for the City of Lake Worth. Are we PAYING her to run for Mayor? Mulvehill, Golden and McVoy are ALL campaigning for her and/or contributing to her campaign – either directly or through family members.
