This keeps getting better or worse...depending....

That is Vice-Mayor Mulvehill featured.  FYI - the building is being torn down and John G's is moving to Manalapan, never to come backLiana Gray, an Australian actress, was on an Earth Diet while she was here and thinks it's great that Dick comes there everyday and eats sausage.  I could go on...

This is what qualifies as a "leader of men and women" in lake worth.....and we wonder why you can buy a house for 60,000 bucks only 4 blocks from the beach!!

Oh my. She saved a building that is being demolished and she saved John Gs for the people. I'd love to show this during a commission meeting.

I wonder how the family feels about statements like "... without Suzanne there would be no John G's food." The food at John G's had everything to do with the hard work and dedication of JOhn Giragos and his family. It has absolutely nothing to do with Susanne Mulvehill!

Mulvehill is a absolute moron. Wake up lake Worth you elected this fool. We fought and won, won what Suzanne? This video is a bunch of blowhards talking "Save the French Toast" you have to be kidding me what a bunch of rookies. Who would listen to this as a travel show?

Why wouldn't Silky Foreclosure have the class or guts to call a press conference to announce what's really going on and what a tremoundus failure she is.

Hey, Rene said he was here forever....remember that? Then he said he would stay til November....remember that? Even though that Australian broad didn't know what she was talking about, Suzanne stood by her man....as it were. The old facts brought other new facts to bare. She was loyal to her detriment. John G's serves a heart attack on a plate. Look who's standing in line. I don't think there is a real piece of food on the plate.....without pesticides and chemicals. Who wants that anyway? As others have said, they were never loyal to Lake Worth. We can do better. Lets' get behind the "demo". Looks like Romano et al. were right. How come it didn't stick? Glad to see the ugly old casino go!!

John Giragos was a very astute businessman. I had a lot of respect for him. He and his family made a fortune and GOOD FOR THEM! Go eat your humus. Name a successful breakfast joint that doesn't serve a heart attack on a plate.

He and his family worked like dogs. There from 4:00 am till 5:00 pm and longer on a regular basis.

John was able to negotiate the favorable rental rate because he renovated the kitchen adding bathrooms so customers didn't have to use our super clean public restrooms at the pool building. As I recall, his investment was in the $350k to $500k in a rented building. Many landlords give similar concessions if someone is improving their building.
They quite possibly will not last in their new location. That would be a shame and our entire area will be at a loss if they don't.

Good riddance to John G's. You state his struggle to build his empire like he had no choice or it was a punishment or he was the only one who has ever worked hard to acquire financial success. Get over it, I will keep saying the same thing. I have no feeling of loss. I ate their once to see what all the buzz was about and never went back, it was nothing to write home to Mama about. On numerous occasions when John's G's was approached about hosting fundraisers for the community they always turned it down. Where as Benny's on the Beach owners John and Pete have NEVER SAID NO to a non-profit fundraiser in benefit of a resident or neighborhood organization in the very community that keeps their doors open. That is what I call a smart business practice. May they have many more years of continued success in Manalapan. Time for fresh new blood that won't be building their empire on the backs of the taxpayer funded subsidies. Enough is enough.

Au revoir JohnG's,

If John G's does not make it in their new location it will be an indicator that the only reason they stayed in business so long was the cheap rent they paid. If they can't make it in their new more expensive location they can always move out to Wellington where they all live.
Lynn I'm sure John G's made $350k in renovations to the restuarant. Real sure.

Please don't refer to me as Lynn except on Thursday nights. I was around when they did the major renovation and can assure you it was very possibly $350k or more. This was when they expanded onto the North patio increasing their square footage significantly, added the takeout window in the front, added ADA bathrooms plus renovated and upgraded the whole kitchen. Not cheap.

Someone told me today that talks are already under way for another restaurantuer to take the space and happy to pay the new rate.

Hope you all don't begrudge the new guy if HE is successful.

Fair enough, Lynn On Thursday Nights... but regardless of their renovation expenses (not unsual for such a business leasing space... I was around too) it doesn't absolve the many years of subsidy John G's enjoyed at taxpayer expense. Nor their avoidance of support for city events over the years. For Lake Worth's sake, we hope ALL new tenants paying fair market rates will be both community involved AND wildly successful.

Point taken on the community support.
